A county-wide collection of garden vegetables and fruits will be held on Sunday, Aug. 4.
Trinity Episcopal Church is sponsoring this collection of garden produce as part of its Harvest Sunday Project.
Everyone in the county who grows vegetables or fruits is invited to bring a bag of their home-grown produce to Trinity Church Parish Hall between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
On the same day, Trinity Church volunteers will deliver the produce to a Unity of Love Praise Temple in Washington, D.C., where it will be distributed to the poor.
The Harvest Sunday Project is being launched in cooperation with “In Jesus’ Name.”
According to a church spokesman, “This is a simple way for people who are concerned about world hunger to help solve the problem.
