The Planning Commission voted last Wednesday to recommend that the Board of Supervisors approve a special exception for Bill Payne to operate an auction house on a fiveacre parcel on the south side of U.S. 211 between Countryside Floor Fashions and Mayhugh’s Grocery in the Amis8ville area.

The property is part of a 27-acre parcel zoned RR, rural residential, a category which allows five-acre lots. The plat submitted with the application shows the five-acre parcel the Paynes want for the auction house fronting on U.S. 211. Another five acre parcel would be behind it, with the residue of 17 acres behind that. The plan calls for all three lots to use a common 50-foot right of way on the west side of the property.
