We, the faculty and staff of Wakefield School, Inc, in Marshall, Virginia, would like to thank publicly our school's Board of Trustees: Douglas Clarke, Robert ' Roberts, John Sharer, Karen Clanton, Jon Burleson, Richard Will, and former board Chairman Lynn Hopewell. These dedicated professionals were chosen to rescue an institution that was failing financially, and in return they and their families have had to endure ignorant and slanderous remarks, harassing letters and phone calls, financial losses and law suits. Despite personal hardships and public calumny, they have persevered so that the dream of Wakefield School—to provide an excellent classical education at a reasonable cost—will continue.
