Samuel Franklin Kannard Jr., 86, of The Plaina, waa charged with malidoua wounding, brandiahing a firearm, abduction, destruction of private property and "while armed with a deadly weapon entering in nighttime the residence of Brenda Moffett with the intent to commit any felony other than murder, rape or robbery,” according to General District Court records.
According to a statement by the victim on file in the Clerk’s Office, he broke a window at Ms. Moffett’s Amiaaville home after midnight on Jan. 19 and "awakened Moffett and commenced beating her. He told her he had a loaded gun which he proceeded to hold to her head saying he wouldn’t shoot her but would shoot her parents if they interfered. He then proceeded to hit her, kick her, pull her hair and use the gun to beat her.
