RAA Election Meeting RAA will hold an election for new officers for the upcoming season at 8 p.m. on Sept. 9 at the Afnissville fire hall. The public is invited.

Picnic Meeting Planned The Rappahannock Historical Society will hold its annual picnic meeting at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 at The Maples, historic home of Newbill and Carol Miller in Washington. Since the library’s First Friday Meeting is in conflict, and some members may like to attend both i meetings, the society .will start its program early. £ The program will include a history of the house and its Miller fam- ■ iiy. aod a guided tour of the lower floor and grounds, with a very brief business meeting. ■The meeting is for members only and their houseguests, but mem- % bership or renewal is available by paying your dues at the door-$15 for " . a single membership and $20 for a family membership: Bring a covered dish to share and what you wish to drink.
