William Kidwell

William Turner Kidwell, 72, of Front Royal died Wednesday, Aug. 18 at the VA Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Mr. Kidwell was born Nov. 11, 1920, in Warren County, the son of Miller Turner and Myra Bell Tharpe Kidwell.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was married to Blanche Kidwell.

Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Elizabeth Haun of Front Royal, Wanda Williams of Blue Mountain and Mary Campbell of Chester Gap; one son, Bobby Kidwell of Stephens City; two step-children, Lee Williams of Kenna, W.Va. and Lloyd Peyton Jr. of Front Royal; one brother, Johnny Kidwell of Front Royal; one sister, Jennie Baggarly of Front Royal; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 20 at Maddox Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Young officiating.

Interment was in Prospect Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
