It is time to put a stop to this senseless desecration of Rappahannock’s priceless natural heritage. The REC has other less harmful, and less costly alternatives for providing power to Culpeper County, including the use of existing rightsof-way. We must move now to shift REC’s focus away from the proposed <plan and towards these alternatives before the momentum generated by, REC puts the proposed plan into effect.

Accordingly, a number of us have arranged to hold a public meeting oh the power line issue. We invite all those interested in finding out more about the proposed line and about steps that can be taken to insure that a more sensible p alternative plant is selected. The meeting will be held on Friday, September 17, 1993 at 7:30 p.m. in the Courthouse, located’ on Gay Street in Washington. If you have any questions, Please contact Linda Tarrv at 937-1 5936.
