One of the agreements between PUW and its agencies states that during campaign time the agency will fundraise with and for PUW. The number one agency for fundraising in this campaign is the Child Care and Learning Center. The center raised $2,000 at their annual Hay Ride. These donations will help to make a difference in the lives of children and families.
United Way wishes to thank others investing in this first in-County campaign: individuals donating $980 to the Special Gift Division; employees of the county, library, and department of social services for the sum of $384; Rappahannock National Bank, $125 and a Commercial Division gift of $25.
In 1994 PUW received $415 from Rappahannock County and allocated -'$3,000 to the Shenandoah Council Boy Scouts, and $3,000 to the Child Care and Learning Center. Other agencies receiving PUW funds to support services in Rappahannock County are: Services To Abused Families, Meals for the Elderly, Rappahannock Legal Services, the Virginia Skyline Girl Scout Council andF.O.R.E.
