Hertz To Retire
Burke Hertz has announced he will be retiring as judge in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for the 20th Judicial Circuit in April.
Judge Hertz has heard cases in Rappahannock and Fauquier counties for the past 15 years. His court deals with cases in which juveniles have been charged with crimes as well as custody cases and cases of abuse and neglect of juveniles and adults domestic violence.
He and his wife Carol, a psychologist live in Rappahannock County.
Several Fauquier Couhty attorneys have expressed an interest in 'sitting on the court after Judge Hertz leaves. The General Assembly will make the appointment.
