By SHARON KILPATRICK Rappahannock News Staff Writer Barry Wright, an administrator with the Department of Environmental Quality, and three assistants came to the courthouse last Wednesday to conduct a public hearing on the county’s application to open a new cell at the landfill. He read from a long page saying the purpose of the hearing was to hear from the public on the technical aspects of the county’s application and citing the legal requirements for the hearing. In response to a question, Mr. Wright said the reason for holding the hearing was to meet requirements of the law. He said he did not know how much it cost Virginia to have four employees of the department come to Washington but he would try to find out. There were no other comments or questions.
