This year’s Bland Music Contest will be held in the RCHS auditorium at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19. If snow or ice requires that the event be postponed, it will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26.
The Rappahapnock Lions Club will award cash prizes of $50, $35 and $25 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in both vocal and instrumental categories. Interested students can receive registration forms from the school or private music teachers or by contacting a member of the Lions Club.
There’s still plenty of time to vocalize, toughen your Up or limber up your fingers. So rehearse your musical act, and prepare to share your talent with friends and family. You just may be better than you realize. You’ll never know until you try.
