William Embrey
William Keith Embrey, 64, of Stanley died on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 6, 1930, in Culpeper. )
He was preceded in death by his father, William Thaddeus Embrey; a son, William Keith Embrey and his wife, Mary Louise Embrey.
He was a hardware store clerk and a farmer.
He married Marry Louise Delaney on Feb. 13, 1950, who died March 18,1992.
He was a member of the Luray Moose Lodge as well as the Sumerduck Baptist Church.
He was engaged to be married to Stella Bragg of Stanley.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Louise Heddings of Catlett, Shirley Ann Jenkins of Bealeton and Pamela Anita Embrey of Elkwood; his mother, Ella Gertrude Embrey of Culpeper; one son, Robert L. Embrey of Calverton; one brother, Robert G. Embrey of Amissville; two sisters, Ella Mae Day of Sumerduck and Anna E. Zinn of Culpeper; a special friend, Stella Bragg of Stanley; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray was in charge of the arrangements.
Paul Magura
Paul Magura, a retired veterinarian, 76, died at his residence off Orange Road on Monday, Jan. 9.
He was the youngest child of Austro-Hungarian (Slovak) parents, George Magura and Anna Molitoris Magura who immigrated to the United States in the early 1900’s.
Mr. Magura was born on Dec. 31, 1918, in Pennsylvania, grew up in Connecticut and has been in Virginia since 1951.
He was in the United States Army during World War II and was captured by the Germans in Verona, Italy. Vegetable gardening was his main hobby.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Virginia Magura; two daughters, Kathryn Ann Magura of Bos
