Ms. Jackson is presently serving a 12 year sentence on similar charges in Fauquier County.
James Riley Williston, 27, of Washington, entered into a plea agreement with the Commonwealth. He pleaded guilty to breaking and entering, two grand larceny charges, and escape. Last March he was sentenced to jail for prior felony convictions, and he escaped in June and committed more felonies. If the court agrees, he will be sentenced to 18 years, with nine suspended. Sentencing will take place at his next court date on March 13.
Kenneth Lee Baldwin, 21, of Sperryville, will have a bench trial on Feb. 17. (A bench trial is a trial without a jury; the presiding judge decides the fate of the defendant.) Mr. Baldwin is appealing a jail sentence he received last November when Judge Charles Foley found him in contempt of a court order. At that time, Mr. Baldwin had been sentenced to six months in jail, with 90 days to serve.
Michael W. Wharton, 22, of Washington, will be tried by a jury on Feb. 16. He was indicted in December and charged with malicious wounding.
