County Citizen’s League from real estate taxes. This will have to be approved by the General Assembly.
The citizen’s league owns property on the Fodderstack Road with a community center on it. Louis Butler explained the building was built when the schools were segregated to provide a place for activities that could not fit in the schools or churches. He said the center was
never a profit making venture, and the league hopes to repair it and again have events there. The board of the citizen’s league is made up of representatives from the county’s churches that are members of the Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association.
