Course Set
Belle Grove Plantation will offer a six-week Beginner Quilt Making course to begin Monday, Feb. 3. Classes are offered in the morning, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and in the evening, 6 to 9 p.m. All classes are held at the house museum located one mile south of Middletown, Virginia, on U.S. Route 11.
Students,»taught by Belle Grove’s Curator of Quilting, Suzi Williams, will learn basic quilt making techniques by constructing a six-block wallhanging. Instruction will be given in pattern drafting, color and fabric coordination, precision hand piecing, applique, hand quilting, and binding. Participants will finish the course with the knowledge of basic skills required to complete a quilt. The cost for the six week course is $50.
