During one evening's class we„ f<?rmed teams to work together to find., solutions to some hypothetical prob-> lems between parents and their children. It was exciting and fun to share] ideas with each other. We parents' came up with some remarkable solu-* tions to problems in minutes.
Each Tuesday night while parents., attended the DARE classes, their ctiil-’ dren were placed in the able care of RCHS Honor Society students. When , it was time to go home, many children didn't want to leave their "baby-sitters." Our children looked forward to > every Tuesday class, some even counting the hours until class time. These' Honor Society students did a fme job and we are grateful to all of them for their efforts.
The DARE Parent Program gave, us a chance to meet others with the same concerns. We learned together how we can help our childrento reach" adulthood safely without the troubles' of drug or alcohol abuse. Although the topics we studied were frighteningly, serious, Capt. Brown managed to keep, the overall tone of the classes lively and positive. We are fortunate to have his fine guidance and assistance.
The DARE Parent Program is' another excellent example of our sher-' iffs promised dedication of time and resources to assist the youth of Rappahannock County.
