Clerk Diane Bruce shared this opinion. "If Louise does anything, she does it first class," she said, noting that many local organizations have benefited from Ms. van Dort's combination of decorating skills and computer skills.
Mr. Morehouse said, "Her organizational skills are enormous. She's one of those people, if you get her involved will give 100 percent. She keeps a pretty even keel when not a lot of other Rappahannockans can do that. She doesn't lose sight of where you want to get to. She just quietly goes about getting it done and getting it checked off the fist.
"Rappahannock County is lucky to have her, and so's the town. I want to personally thank her for the work she’s done for the town and the work she’s yet to do for the town. I'd probably support her in anything she wanted to do."
