The sheriff and investigators from the Virginia Department of Commerce want to question a paving crew operating a late model Ford Ranger with “Ray’s Paving” on the side; they are believed to have a roller and a Bobcat. If you observe individuals doing paving work on private property in this county who match this description, try to get a license number and call the Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office, 675-3331 or the Commonwealth’s Attorney, 675-3318.
The sheriff’s office is also investigating a series of larcenies which occurred off routes 643 and 637 in Amissville recently. Similar larcenies also occurred in the neighboring counties of Fauquier, Culpeper and Prince William.
The Prince William County Sheriff’s Office recovered a large amount of the stolen merchandise after a tip led them to an address in that county. Over $100,000 in stolen property has been recovered. Capt. Chris Williams of Rappahannock said they hope to get the stolen property identified in order to link the larcenies. Victims of the crimes will go to Prince William County on May 28 to identify property.
