A funeral service will be held at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Amissville at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 22, with Rev. Herman Washington of Stevens City, Va. officiating. Interment will be held in the Bailey Family Cemetery in Amissville.
W.C. Thompson Funeral Home in Culpeper is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Updike, 72, of Washington died Monday, May 18 at Chester Gap.
She was born in Charleston, W.Va. on July 16, 1925.
Mrs. Updike had worked for American Viscose Cooperation, the Old Virginia Packing Company and she was retired from the Department of Agriculture as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Washington Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women’s Mission Society and had taught Sunday School.
Survivors include one sister Elizabeth Vemer Jenkins and brother-in-law George R. Jenkins; a nephew, William Jenkins and two nieces, Susan Jenkins Jones and Deborah Jenkins Johnson, all of
