It was an evening that brought laughs, tears of joy and acknowledgment, awe and inspiration to members of the audience. On Friday, May 8, 25 people, coming from as far away as Middleburg, met at the Rappahannock Healing Arts Center in Sperryville to listen to stories, sacred Incan teachings and universal cosmology told by Anton Ponce de Leon Paiva, a man who lives “at a pivotal point of the world a place of light along the serpentine spine of the Andes.”
In a remote and hidden ancient tribe near Machu Picchu that has been guarding legacies, medical secrets and universal spiritual knowledge, Paiva was initiated by an elder he calls “the wise one.” He told the audience his heartwarming stories of being 7-years-old and journeying with his father to witness the death of the 140year-old leader, Yupanqui Puma, descendant of Tupac Inca Yupanqui, tenth Inca of the Second Dynasty.
After 30 years of struggling to find answers to explain the miracles he witnessed as a boy in the Sacred Valley of the Gods, Paiva was summoned once more to be inducted into the sacred teachings.
