RSL fall banquet, raffle set
The Rappahannock Soccer League will host its annual fall banquet at RCES on Nov. 21 beginning at 6 p.m. A fundraising raffle is underway to raise money for equipment, league expenses, trophies and new uniforms. All community members are welcome to choose and take a chance at three donated prizes that include brunch for two at Four and Twenty Blackbirds, a Princess Diana Beanie Baby and brunch/supper for two at The Bleu Rock Inn. The cost of each ticket is $1. Both RCES and RCHS have ticket coordinators organizing sales, as well as many “soccer parents” in the community. Tickets are also available at Mountainside Market. Wakefield to host open house
Wakefield Country Day School in Flint Hill is holding an open house on Sunday, Nov. 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. This is a good opportunity to tour the school, meet students, faculty and parents. For more information contact Mrs. Connie Lalonde at 635-8555.
Gorgeous Holiday Cheer
Once again, the Trinity Church Garden Guild is offering superb, florist quality poinsettia plants for the holidays. These splendid specimens were enthusiastically received last year, and all reports were that they out-shone and out-lasted their inferior supermarket cousins. Pick-up will be at the Parish Hall on Friday, Dec. 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds go towards the building of a new church garden on Middle Street.
Christmas bazaar planned
The CCLC Christmas Bazaar will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Washington School on Mt. Salem Avenue. Included will be a children’s shopping room, a bake sale, a white elephant and crafts sale, face painting, lunch, pictures with Santa, and a Beanie baby raffle. Dinner, fun evening set
Journey back in time to the 16th Century with the Rappahannock County High School Choirs as they proudly present their first renaissance dinner on Saturday, Dec. 5 at Rappahannock County Elementary School. The festivities will begin at 5 p.m.
Featured are singing performances throughout the evening by the RCHS select choir. Sumptuous fare will be prepared by local talent of Rappahannock. The general choir will sing and serve the meals. Cost is $15 per person and $10 for children under 12 years of age. You must order tickets by Nov. 27. For more information call Gretchen Long at 987-8575.
Dance at Pine Knot
The band, Ice from Washington D.C. will be playing at Pine Knot Inn on Saturday, Nov. 21 beginning at 9 p.m. They will be playing oldies, rock and roll and soul music. “Come, early and relax with a home cooked meal,” said an organizer.
Christmas breakfast planned
The Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary is sponsoring an “All American Christmas Breakfast,” on Saturday, Dec. 12 at the Rappahannock Elementary School. Breakfast will be served from 7 to 11 a m. Santa will be visiting between 9 and 11 a.m. For information call Nancy at 987-8495
Dance at Amissville
The Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company will sponsor a dance on Nov. 21. Music will be by River Bottom. Proper dress is required, no shorts, no holes in jeans and all shirts must have collars. No smoking will be allowed.
