each month at a board meeting. They attend school functions to lend their support, spend countless hours in subcommittee meetings and much time in reading and in discussion with citizens to prepare for upcoming decisions.

We would be terribly remiss not to also recognize our board of supervisors and county administrator. It is their job to look after the interests of all citizens of our county and what a tall order that is! These gentlemen have given their time and careful consideration, and we must acknowledge their part in the progress of education in our school system. Members of this board have also supported school programs in a variety of ways. Just as with the school board, probably their most generous contribution has been their time.

Somehow “thank you” seems inadequate when we consider all the contributions of those mentioned above, but our gratitude is genuine. Cicero said, “What greater or better gift can we offer the republic than to teach and instruct our youth?” Perhaps the best “thank you” is the satisfaction of knowing that
