American Education Week
is Nov. 15-21. It is a time for us to reflect upon the value of education for our children, and the benefit of education for all of society. Those of us at Rappahannock County Elementary School realize that a quality education requires many people working together, not just employees of the school system.
Teachers, aides, bus drivers, custodians, food service employees, substitutes and secretaries work tremendously hard for our students. During American Education Week, we would like to take the opportunity to recognize those and others who support our children’s opportunity to succeed in school and in life.
At RCES we benefit from an enormous number of volunteer hours. Our volunteer army is made up of not only interested parents, but caring senior citizens and community members from all walks of life. They provide a myriad of services to our students and our school, saving us both time and money while helping children. These are precious resources, and ones for which we are grateful to our volunteers.
