Army Chief Warrant Officer Philip L. Thorton III, whose parents live in Sperryville, is a member of a three-man aviation detachment from Ft. Eustis, that departed Oct. 22 and 24 on a mission to support six major scientific programs in Ellsworth Land, Antarctica, in the earth’s southermost continent. Mrs Charlene Romine, Castleton, has been appointed resident agent for the Nationwide Insurance Companies, according to word received from Jesse L. Strosnider, local district sales manager.
