are sponsoring a Band Field Trip to the Iwo Jima Memorial in Arlington on June 6, to watch the United States Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corp perform. We are grateful for the hard work and organization that go into making trips of this kind possible. The band students and their chaperones will leave at 3:30 return about 9:30 or 10 at night. • Mrs. Andra Logan’s Transition Class at RCHS has just returned from a wonderful trip to New York City. They began their adventure last Monday by traveling to Richmond where they were scheduled to meet with Delegate Jay Katzen. The next morning they boarded a train for Manhattan. The students had the opportunity to visit many sites of historic interest and to attend a Broadway play. This trip, as are all of their field trips, was funded by the students’ hard work on many projects.

• RCPS Middle School CoPrincipal Richard Smith is inviting all parents of rising fifth grade students to attend a meeting on Tuesday, May 30 at 7 p.m. in the RCES Library to discuss next year’s instructional schedule.
During the meeting he will present a scheduling plan that will provide each student with both large and small group instruction in language arts and math. The small group instruction will address specific needs of students who are
