NOTICE OF INTENTION TO AMEND AND READOPT AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO TRANSIENT ROOM RENTALS AND MEALS
Kindly take notice the Town Council will consider at its next regular meeting on June 14, 2000 at 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be called, at the Town Hall, Town of Washington, Virginia an ordinance to amend and readopt the tax on transient room rentals and the tax on meals as stated in such ordinance. A copy of the proposed ordinance is on file at the Town Clerk’s Office, the County Administrator’s Office and the Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County and may be inspected during normal business hours. The general purpose of the proposed ordinance is to readopt the existing ordinance relating to a tax on transient room rentals and a tax on meals and to amend the ordinance to exclude from taxation “food” as defined in the Food Stamp Act, tangible personal property purchased with food coupons and other exclusions as set forth and to amend the subsection relating to the exclusion of food and beverages sold through vending machines.
