Both teams seemed a little nervous with both teams going down 1-2-3 in the first inning. Madison would score one in the second to take the early lead.
Brittany Thornhill pitched very well the first two innings striking out three and allowing only two hits. She would leave the game after the third inning, when Madison scored four more runs. Brittany had four strikeouts and one walk in three innings pitched.
Lara Kreyling came on in the fourth, with Madison leading 5-2. “I still thought we had a chance” said Coach Jenkins. “We made a few mistakes but I thought we could still pull it out.”
