There was much controversy about where Henry Miller I settled in Virginia. John W. Miller, age 93, in 1901 stated that Henry Miller I settled near W ashington, Rappahannock County, about the time of the Revolutionary war. This statement might have applied to Henry Miller II, 2 but not to Henry Miller I.
I have a document, not * dated, from Oakley P. 'Haines of the Baltimore Sun, to his cousin Middleton Miller, stating that Henry Miller I settled on the Robinson River, now ; in Madison County.
Henry Miller I fought in - the Revolutionary War, and *also his son, Henry Miller II. I found their names listed together in the DAR Patriot Index as follows:
Henry Miller, emigrated from Germany about 1720 and settled in Germantown •near Philadelphia. He had traveled extensively in Europe and had served in the army of Frederick the Great.
Susannah Sibberrine ( Sibly left Germany Nov. 9, •' 1751, in the 22nd year of her age and landed after a voyage of eight weeks in Philadelphia. A few years later she married Henry, who was then in the tanning business at , Germantown, where they resided for sometime, and then moved to Bucks County, Pa. and from thence to Culpeper and settled on Robinson River, now in Madison. Mary Miller, her daughter was born Sept. 17, 1756. On the 15th of February 1779, Mary was married to Issaac Haines, son of Ezekial Haines who emigrated from New Jersey to Culpeper in .1740 and married Abigail Kemble in 1746. Isaac was the first son of Ezekial and " was bom in 1753.
The first son of Isaac and Mary (Ezekial) was bom Feb. 8, 1780. They had seven other children, three sons and four daughters.
On the 19th of Nov. , 1801 Ezekial (son of Isaac and Mary), was married to Anna Hopkins, a native of
