Community extends appreciation to
Captain Jeff Brown for outstanding job.

D.A.R.E./Field Day was celebrated at
Rappahannock County Elementary School on Friday, May 26. Over fifty exhibitors were present. There was something for everyone and Captain Jeff Brown deserves a round of applause for his hard work, many hours of service and dedication for this event.
Captain Brown devotes a great deal of time to make this day a reality for Rappahannock school children.
Is Captain Brown looking for a round of applause? The answer is no. Even on Thursday morning with exhibitors arriving and knowing full well he had many hours to put in to make this reality happen in Rappahannock, including a trip to Maryland to pickup McGruff, Captain Brown remarked, “it’s all for the kids.”
Captain Brown started D.A.R.E. Day in Rappahannock five years ago and each year the event grows by a few more exhibitors and others participating to make it a great day.
It’s a lot of fun for the children but Captain Brown also points out that behind the fun aspect, “it’s also a chance for the kids to see the police and other role models in a positive light.”
Captain Brown is to be commended for yet another successful year in bring D.A.R.E. Day activities to the children of Rappahannock County Elementary School.
