the Virginia Waste Management Board, Virginia Department of

Rappahannock County is proposing a remedial action plan for the abandoned Aileen, Inc. facility on State Route 641 in Flint Hill, Virginia. During the operational life of the plant, which closed in 1994, chlorinated hydrocarbon chemicals were released to the environment. Rappahannock County has investigated the nature and extent of the release, and has determined that the ground water beneath the facility has been impacted by low level concentrations of chlorinated hydrocarbons. Subsequently, the County has proposed a remedial action plan to the Virginia Department of Environmental,' Quality.
The proposed remedy, Monitored Natural Attenuation, is discussed in the following documents, which are on file in the Rappahannock County Administrator's Office, located in Washington, Virginia.
