Steven Nolen Scoggin will be the new pastor of the Washington Baptist Church. Scoggin and his wife Nancy, both natives of Oklahoma, were in town last Sunday for his trial sermon at the church. After listening, the congregation voted unanimously to oner him the position of pastor.
The Rappahannock Supervisors will hold a special meeting June 24 to discuss vacancies left by the plague of resignations that has struck the county in the last week.
In letters dated June 9, both Zoning Administrator Evan McNear and Patty Alexander, secretary to the administrator and clerk for the BZA announced their resignations effective July 1.
Maurice Biddle, chairman of the Countv’s Water and Sewer Authority also submitted a letter of resignation.

School House Restaurant Proprietor Sheila O’Brien graduated last month from La Varenne Cooking School at the Greenbriar Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.
Chef Patrick O’Connell of The Inn at Little Washington demonstrated his style of cooking — which he describes as the “cuisine of the territory” to the Rappahannock Extension Homemakers at their annual International Dinner on Monday, June 20.
