Services Board to meet
The next meeting of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Disability Services Board will be Thursday, June 21 at 10 a.m. at the Madison County Social Sen/ices Building in Madison. The Rappahannock-Rapidan Disability Services Board serves physically and sensory disabled citizens from Rappahannock, Madison and Orange Counties. The public is invited. 4th of July fundraiser slated
The Washington Baptist Church is planning several fundraising activities for the annual Fourth of July festival in Washington.
The youth of the church will be sponsoring taco and pizza meals inside the air-conditioned fellowship hall of the church, the Men’s Brotherhood a barbecue chicken meal and watermelon down near the pond, Ruth Clark will be coordinating another Grandma’s Attic and Ginger Estes, Mary Bailey and Marilyn Smoot will be conducting a silent auction inside. Anyone desiring to donate items to the Grandma’s Attic or the silent auction should call the Church Office at 675-3336. All proceeds will go to the Summer Youth Mission Trip and the Church Building Fund.
Activities at Dreamtime
The Art of Papermaking will be held June 23 at Dreamtime Center for Herbal Studies near Washington from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the cost is $60. Experience hands-on the ancient craft of papermaking from abundant and medicinal fiber plants including nettles, garlic, burdock, flax, milkweed, sisal, marshmallow, hemp and hollyhock. ,

Piedmont Family Fair set
Live musical entertainment, fly fishing on the lake, Jack Russell terrier races and a wide assortment of fine crafters are just a few of the highlights at the 10th annual Piedmont Family Fair scheduled for Wednesday, July 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Airlie Conference Center, Warrenton. The Warrenton-based Piedmont Environmental Council sponsors the Piedmont Family Fair.
In addition to music and entertainment, other activities will include wine tasting, butterfly garden tours, nature walks, beagle and sheepdog demonstrations, local crafters, artists’ show, vintage car show and much more. Admission is $10 per carload. Call 347-2334 for more information.
