Mr. Leake described the Bank’s recent growth, and its need to better serve its customers by providing handicapped accessibility, enlarging the parking lot because of the lack of on-street parking on Gay Street, and by adding the drive-through facility “because it is a convenience that our customers and the citizens of Rappahannock County deserve.”
After Mr. Leake completed his introduction to the RNB proposal. Mayor Stew Willis asked for clarifications on details including the number of on-street parking spaces eliminated by a 22 inch extension of the sidewalk into the right-of-way to accommodate the handicapped ramp and by new parking lot entrances, outdoor lighting plans, pneumatic tube details, and shrubbery removal.
Town Attorney Bennett said that details for features such as lighting and the drive-through pneumatic tube could not be considered because they had not been included in the application, and that the plans submitted with the application would need to be amended to include the additional details.
