Stories this April
Two Life Stories Workshops are scheduled for April in Washington. The dates are April 19-21 and April 26-28.
Julie Portman, who leads the workshops, is Obie award winning yvriter and performer whose most recent play, Three Roses, was broadcast on public television this fall. She has written a series of plays inspired by personal stories and believes that everyone has an unique story to tell and the need for that story to be heard.
People in all walks of life take •Julie Portman’s workshops - therapists, teachers, artists, retirees, government employees; people who write a lot and people who have never written before. The workshop is for anyone who wants to begin writing their life stories or get some fresh inspiration to continue their writing.
Participation is limited to 12 people. The workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and the cost for the three days is $275. To register call 987-3164 or e-mail julie@kitheatre.com.
Contestants sought
The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department is currently seeking contestants for their annual fire queen. Interested girls up to age 21 should contact Joyce Lillard at 987-8952. The carnival will be held June 5, 6, 7 and 8.
