Spring fund raiser planned
The Washington Baptist Church will have its annual Spring Event fund raiser on Saturday, April 20 from 9 a m until 2 pm. the same day as the Fodderstack Race. The event will be held on the courtyard grounds to be more convenient to the expected crowd.
This event will indude a Grandma's attic yard sale, plenty of homemade baked goods, youth selling Christian t-shirts, snow j cones, drinks, and a hamburger or hot dog lunch All proceeds j will go to the Washington Baptist Church Building Fund and for youth mission activities. Anyone desiring to donate items should ! call the church office at 675-3336 Pickup of items can be | arranged.
Bird identification
Lyt Wood will present "An Introduction to Birds and Birding" on Friday, April 26 at 8 p.m. at Ki Theatre Gay Street. Washington. This lecture is a prerequisite to birding hikes that will follow on April 27, May 3 and May 5. Clean up planned for Pa di
There will be a dean up of the Rappahannock County Park on Sunday, April 21 from 2 p.m. until dusk as a follow-up to the Fodderstack Race on Saturday and in honor of Earth Day Proceeds for the Fodderstack go toward maintaining the County Park through the Rappahannock Park Authority (contact the County Administrator's office for your District Representative), and this dean up will help provide a proper spring spruce up
It will also be a nice way to celebrate Earth Day in our community. Partidpants may bring whatever they think will help with cleaning up trails, trimming trees and shrubs, and picking up oda bits of trash. Recreational gear such as fnsbees tennis racquets and balls, volleyballs and basketballs are encouraged too A potluck meal will be part of the late afternoon, and musicians are welcome to bring instruments and a tune or two.
