• Delegate Allen Louderback attended the School Board meeting last week and discussed the Virginia’s dilemma in terms of reduced funding to localities this year. He accepted questions from our Board and promised to remember Rappahannock and our dire situation when he returns to Richmond.
• Delegate Louderback also presented Athletic Director Jon Smythe with a copy of a resolution adopted by the House of Delegates that recognized our State Champion Girls’ Softball team.
• The Lions are back! A “pride” of Rappahannock Lions was just spotted at RCHS last week prowling around the front of the school. They had rolled onto school property with the Lions’ new Vision and Hearing Van and spent the entire day screening students. Vision and hearing screening is a volunteer effort of the Lions Club. These generous men worked very hard throughout the day to provide this valuable service to our students, and we are very grateful. They will be at RCES on May 29th to provide this service to our elementary students. If you encounter a Lion on the streets of Rappahannock, please thank him.
• The RCES PTO meeting has been rescheduled for Friday, April 19 at the Rappahannock Park. Please come for the potluck dinner at 6:00 p.m. Bring a dish to share. The meeting, as always, will begin at 7 p.m. This is such a fun time for everyone that attends. Please join us.
