Special to the Rappahannock News

A new addition to Rappahannock’s restaurant scene officially opens today in Flint Hill: Griffin Tavern and Restaurant.

This British-style tavern— showcasing local food and decor, three dining rooms, a pub and retail store—is the long-awaited creation of Jim and Debbie Donehey.

Its inspiration came from many weekend trips the Doneheys made to this area before they bought land six years ago near Flint Hill and built a hand-hewn log home with mountain views.
