Only four supporters of proposed “hunter control” ordinances attended Thursday’s public hearing before the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors, but opponents turned out in force.
About 25 members of Flint Hill hunting and fishing clubs lined the benches on one side of the yourtroom. One after the other they maintained that ordinances banning loaded rifles and shotguns from vehicles and pubbc roads were unnecessary inconveniences and an infringement on their rights as sportsmen.
They insisted that adoption of the two ordinances would do nothing to help Game Warden Jim Bankston combat the problem of “slob hunters” in Rappahannock. On Chairman E. P. Luke’s suggestion, action was postponed until
