Courtship among SheetWeb Spiders can be daunting. For most species of SheetWebs, the male has to spend a lot of time trying to entice the female while hoping she won’t decide he’s better suited as prey. Webs can also get pretty torn up in the mating process, but if things go well, both male and female will often share a web.
The best time to see the webs of Sheet-Web Spiders, especially en masse, is early in the morning, when the dew still covers the webs, making them glittering jewels in the grass.
