The Rappahannock County High School Volleyball team picked up where it left off as last year’s Group A state runner-up squad by winning five out of six matches. The Lady Panthers capped the week by capturing the Mountaineer Classic Volleyball Tournament, hosted by Madison County High School.
The Panthers opened the week away on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Warren County High School against a very athletic, wellcoached Wildcat team. The Panthers were competitive but fell to the WCHS team in four games.
The Junior Varsity also played with the Wildcats in a close match that required three games, but they were also defeated. Of the varsity match, Coach Jared Nieters said that “the game provided a good opportunity to define our rotation and defend against a dynamic attack.”
