McNear was not alone in her opposition to Frazier.
Welch said he is a member of a local church which is active in helping the community. He said however that the reality of the situation was church members were not enough to solve the problem.
“Maybe we need more people in the churches, then we would have more help but were not talking about churches, We’re talking about helping people,” he said.
Aylor agreed, “I'm a church member myself and I really do think we need this bus. I didn’t realize that this would come to my house and take me to my appointments.”
And she is not the only one who had been using the bus for medical purposes.
Darcy Canton of Rappahannock’s senior citizen center said one person who she knew regularly rode the bus was unable to attend the meeting because she was at a doctor's appointment at that very moment. Canton said the woman uses the bus, along with her husband who is on oxygen, to get into town roughly twice a week.
