Page County High School Panthers. In the first battle of the Panthers, the JV team defeated the Page County girls in three games. The RCHS Varsity squad made short work of the visitors, defeating them in three straight.
Coach Nieters said, “We wanted to come out in our home opener and make a good showing against a regional team.”
Cross country team
In its first meet of the season, the RCHS Cross Country Team traveled to Blrentsville District High School to participate in the “Relays Under the Lights” event on Saturday, Sept. 6. The young Panther squad fared well in tough competition. Competing as one of only two Group A schools, the RCHS team finished 22nd in a field of 25.
In what Coach Tony described as a “balanced attack,” the team’s five competitors all finished with times within a 22-second range. With youth and such balance, the future is looking quite bright for the team. Individual times (2500m intervals) are
