It was a day full of excitement and great volleyball for the Rappahannock County Varsity volleyball team and sports fans that Saturday, Sept. 6 as the Lady Panthers took part in the 10th Annual Madison Mountaineer Ibumament.
The first game for Rappahannock, the two-time defending tournament champion, was against William Monroe. Rappahannock defeated William Monroe in two straight sets, 25-23, 25-17.
Highlights of the game included five kills by Anna Kreyling, three kills by Ryisha Cook and one each from Rachel Gall and Mattie Nawrocki. Ryisha Cook also contributed five blocks and Anna Kreyling three.
Strong serving was a key factor in the Lady Panther win. The team maintained a serving percentage of 92 against William Monroe with Mattie Nawrocki serving three aces while Ryisha Cook and Lara Kreyling each contributed an ace as well.
