Krebser mamed rran Moore and retired a few years ago from active medical practice. He remained active in county affairs until the last few months of his life when incurable prostate cancer forced him to restrict his activities. He died at home at the age of 75.
A memorial service arranged by wife Fran was attended by 150 friends and family members on Aug. 2 on the grounds of the Flint Hill Public House where he had often lunched and talked with his friends from the Lunch Bunch.
Reinhardt Lynch and Patrick O’Connell, co-owners of the Inn at Little Washington placed a bronze plaque engraved “Krebser Square” in front of the Washington Post Office. Krebser owned the building before selling it to Lynch and O’Connell in 1989.
Krebser was active in the Rappahannock County Democratic Party, the Rappahannock Farmers’ Association, the Cancer Society, and Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation.
