We chose Dr. Werner Krebser as our 2003 Citizen
of the Year because we wanted to pay tribute to
this man and recognize his dedication to preserving the scenic beauty ofKappahannock County This marks the first time we have given the award posthumously since we began in 1978. We did so to honor the vision and spirit of Dr. Krebser who died June 6. One of the key reasons Rappahannock looks so beautifiil today is because of hard, tough decisions Dr. Krebser made as a Planning Commission member for nearly a quarter of a century to keep it this way. He was an outspoken champion of all we want to preserve here, our open spaces, our scenic beauty. We salute him as our 2003 Citizen of the Year.
