The Rappahannock middle school boys’ basketball team has started the season on a high note.
Through the first four games of the season, the team has a record of 3-1, and the only loss came the first game of the year.
That game featured the young Panthers against the Page Panthers.
The Rappahannock team led most of the game but came up short with three seconds left on the clock.
Page hit the bucket and the Junior Panthers lost 3736.
The next three games would be just as exciting but the outcome was in favor of the Panthers.
They defeated Madison 36-29, Luray 51-44, and Strasburg 38-37.
In each of the wins it was a team effort; everyone contributed in some way.
In the Page game, Shawn Porter lead in scoring with 15 points and had several key rebounds.
Travis Jenkins had a game high seven assists. In the Madison game, Shawn Porter and Chase Tupper led in scoring with 16 and 10 respectively.
