on Earth.” A solemn echo “Taps” by trumpeters, Mattie Nawrocki and Patrick Treanor, was a fitting end to a program celebrating Veterans’ Day and honoring the veterans of Rappahannock County. The VFW Color Guard retired the colors.
The event’s program included an insert listing 28 women and men, all Rappahannock County public school graduates, currently serving in the armed services. Many in the audience were veterans of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
This second annual Veterans’ Day celebration was arranged by the RCHS Band Boosters and conducted by RCHS students. Principal Roger Mello beamed.
