Alexia Morrison of Flint Hill recently decided she needed a new home for a Jeep wagon that her daughter had driven before leaving for college.
She offered the car as a donation to the Flint Hill fire and rescue department in the hope it could serve some useful purpose.
Fire officers investigated and found that, for only a few hundred dollars, the Jeep could be painted and made ready as a crew vehicle for the department — a nearly impossible expense of about $30,000 if purchased new.
