The 13th anniversary of Ki Theatre’s production of “The Shepherds’ Play” is Saturday, Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 5 at 4 p.m.
Like the people of the little island of Oberufer in the Danube River who preserved the play for 700 years, the theatre community of Rappahannock County has a tradition of performing the play during the holidays.
This simple story of the birth of love and hope in the world is one of a trilogy of traditional religious plays collected by Karl Julius Schroer and translated by A. C. Harwood. A cast composed of new and experienced Shepherds’ Play performers continue, the tradition.
