Pellegatta is not a native. Growing up in Bethlehem, Pa., he left in 1956 to join the Marine Corps.

“I protected you all these years,” he quips. He moved around after the Marine Corps working in various occupations ranging from stagehand at the Kennedy Center to importing wine from Morocco for Disneyworld.
